Welcome!

This blog was created for the purpose of sharing my journey as I travel through my English 10 Quest. I set a goal of learning or choreographing at least 10 dances and filming them in various locations around Doha or other places that I travel to. At the end of the year, I will give a 5 minute presentation to my English class discussing my Quest and experiences throughout the year.

A little about me...

I have been dancing for the past 12 years of my life, and you can guess that dance is a huge part of my life. When I came to Doha, I was unable to find a dance studio and stopped dancing completely, which was a big change from Texas, where I danced 10 hours a week. Something I hope comes out of this Quest is that I would begin dancing again and be motivated to find places and time to dance on my own.

To carry out my Quest,

I'll need a large space, preferably with a mirror, a laptop to play music/ view videos, and a phone or camera to film me dancing. Resources I can turn to when I need help or advice about dancing are my dancer friends, and Youtube.

Difficulties and Challenges?

Although this Quest is something I'm interested in and excited to begin, I do anticipate having to overcome difficulties along the way. Making time for practicing and dancing even with my busy schedule will require good time management and self discipline. Additionally, I am not used to filming my dancing, so I will have to learn to be confident in front of the camera and not over-analyze or doubt myself.

On this blog, I will be posting videos of me dancing, lists of my favorite dancers/ dances, thoughts/reflections on my Quest and its progress, and whatever else that may come to mind.

It is my hope that although this Quest is a school project, I will still be able to improve and grow while enjoying this year of dancing in Doha.
